Lu died in New Haven from meningitis following frontal lobe extirpation. She was involved, with Lucy, Becky, and Jerry in Fulton's lobotomy research. Lucy, Becky, and Jerry were being used by Dr. Jacobsen who wanted to create a “group or colony of experimental defectives." Lu was 3 months old when she died.
