Also Known: Wendy groomed Bob compulsively and for months kept his body nearly naked. Bob spent at least a year in the company of his mother, Wendy, Wendy's friend Josie, and Josie's son Dick, who was his half-brother. Yerkes reports that "in skill and rapidity of climbing and running about quadrupedally and bipedally he was unequaled" among the infants studied. "Although relatively shy and distrustful of us, he was also highly independent, courageous, and venturesome, and we often jokingly referred to him as the "street gamin."
