Bimba was an infant when she presented as a gift to the Anthropoid Research Station by the "Pastoria" station of the Pasteur Institute in Kindia, French Guinea. Henry Nissen brought Bimba, 5 males and 10 other females back from Africa on June 17, 1930.

Date of Death: December 13, 1944.

On June 23, 1937 Bimba was transferred from New Haven to Orange Park for breeding and experimental use. She died from dysentery. She was 15 years old.
